How to fix Google Play Console "Your identity could not be verified"

Google Play developers must verify their identity otherwise their account will be deleted. I had deadline of Nov 2024 and i submitted all important documents but verification failed. As Indian i submitted Adhaar card for address verification but this document type is not supported. Because address has to be permanent or owned by individual or business. Adhaar can have random address which is not permanent therefore this document is rejected.


Same as above if you are submitting any document that doesn't show address which is permanent or doesn't represents owner's address can be rejected. Best is to submit Passport, Bank statements, electricity bills etc which show owner name that must be you and your address.


Any document which has any mismatch between details you enter and details in document can fail. I don't know if verification is done by humans or software or AI. I have submitted bills and this time i expect verification to complete.

 

If verification doesn't complete i will have to quit Play store and start publishing on other stores.

IMPORTANT: The information that you enter must exactly match the information on the government-issued photo ID. If you are representing an organisation, the information that you enter must exactly match the information on the documents that you submit related to your organisation.

Your identity could not be verified for the following reasons:

    Proof of address: The document type that you submitted is not supported. Provide a different type of document.

The verification process may take a few days. During this process, and once verification is complete, you won't be able to edit your name on your payments profile.

Tips on submitting your documents:

    Capture the entire document, including all four corners.
    Your image must be readable, in focus and free of reflections and glare.
    Incomplete or obstructed documents, or dark or blurry photos won't be accepted.
    To prevent abuse, we allow a limited number of verification attempts.
    Uploading documents or photos other than those requested may result in account suspension.
